Liverpool's Hungarian Simon tipped for big things

Liverpool reserves coach Gary Ablett has told fans to keep an eye on Hungarian prospect Andras Simon for the remainder of this season.

Ablett told liverpoolfc.tv: "Andreas is another one, like we've talked in the past about Francisco Duran, in that he was out injured for a length of time and came back into our plans. It's great to have him back. He came on trial last year and did really well so we got him, Krisztian and Peter Gulacsi at the beginning of the season. But unfortunately Andreas suffered a knee injury, then he suffered a dislocated shoulder, so it's been very much stop-start for him.

"But now we've got him fit and he played 45 minutes against Gothenburg and went away with Hungary and played two or three tournament games. We are looking to push him on and now he will push Krisztian, Jordy and Danny Pacheco. All of them will want to play but whether we play with one or two up front will depend upon who we are up against."

He added: "He's great with his back to goal. Older people will remember Kenny Dalglish putting his backside into players to protect the ball and he can do that, while he also twists and turns and he's another one, that once he scores one he'll starts to score regularly. He's a confidence player and we're lucky to have him back. Every day in training he's looking stronger and physically fitter and we're probably getting him back at just the right time to put pressure on the other boys."
