England captain Steven Gerrard hailed the disciplined performance of Wayne Rooney for their draw in Montenegro.

Gerrard hailed the Manchester United striker's nerve.

Liverpool midfielder Gerrard said: "I thought his behaviour was magnificent. He had been on the agenda all week with people wondering how he was going to behave.

"I thought he handled himself magnificently and got us that important goal. The lads know if we can create the service for Wayne, he will score goals."
