Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says manager Rafa Benitez is "fine" with his England commitments.

Against Russia tomorrow, Gerrard plans to play again without an injection in his toe and says his club boss Benitez is delighted about that.

The Kop midfielder said: "I've had a few aches and pains. Rafa has been fine.

"He's been telling me to be careful but he also understands how desperate I am to play in these games."
