Liverpool's distraught Riise ignoring brother texts

The brother of John Arne Riise has revealed the Liverpool defender is struggling to cope with his own goal gaffe against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Concerned younger brother Bjorn Helge, a professional with Lillestrom and close confidante, made repeated attempts to contact him with a few consoling words in the aftermath of the 1-1 semi-final, first-leg draw, says the Daily Mail.

Eventually, a text message came back, saying: "I'm not up to talking at the moment. Give me a couple of days, will you?"

Unanswered messages piled up on his mobile phone until he finally replied to 24-year-old Riise Jnr, who said: "I had been trying to get in touch after the game to see how he was.

"Eventually, he sent a text back saying he was so disappointed he didn't want to speak and telling me to try again in a couple of days."
