Liverpool's Carragher: Man Utd as strong as ever

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher doesn't believe Manchester United will suffer from the departures of Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Carragher told the People: "People have been speculating that United could be weaker because they've lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez but I don't really buy it.

"Over the years, managers like Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, who have been going for a long time, come under pressure to reproduce winning sides when they lose big players.

"But they always come up with the answers and I think you'd be a fool to question what United are doing or speculating whether they are going to be weaker or stronger.

"Ronaldo was a great player but they weren't a one-man team. Their defence was superb and they still have Rooney, who is one of the best players in the world."
