Liverpool's Benayoun escapes terrorist bombing

Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun escaped a suicide bomb attack in Israel yesterday.

The midfield ace, 27, was visiting family in his home town of Dimona when the attackers struck, killing one person and wounding six.

Benayoun said: "Everything is OK with me but I'm not important.

"Those who really matter are the people of my home town."

Benayoun, home for the friendly with Romania tomorrow, was at his father's house and heard the explosion.
