Liverpool's Babel: Ten Cate will get stuck into Chelsea stars

Liverpool attacker Ryan Babel says Chelsea's stars are in for a tough time under new coach Henk ten Cate.

Babel worked with Ten Cate at Ajax and revealed: "Henk ten Cate definitely made me a better player at Ajax.

"He continually told me I was the fastest player in Holland and should make more of my speed."

Babel knows all about his methods and temper from first-hand experience of the Dutchman.

And he warned Blues they are in for a change of atmosphere.

Babel added: "He used to get annoyed that I always cut inside when I attacked on the wing. During training, everyone else was allowed to do what they wanted when they had the ball.

"But I had to always try passing on the outside even when there was no obvious ball on.

"I didn't like this one bit but by continually making me do it this way, Ten Cate made me aware of all the qualities I possess.

"His methods worked and he really opened my eyes.

"I've become a better player as a result and I'm far more consistent.

"Everything is based on confidence. Before I was indifferent - sometimes good, sometimes not very good. Today I might still have my off days but I always radiate self-confidence."
