Liverpool winger Ryan Babel believes the reason for The Premier League's domination of the Champions League this season has occurred because teams on the continent cannot handle the speed with which English sides play.
One common denominator of Arsenal's victory over Milan, Liverpool's victory over Inter and Manchester United's demolition of Roma last season, was the way the English sides seemed so much faster than their opponents - a point not lost on Babel.
"The Premier League is maybe not as good technically as Spain but the rhythm, the tempo is higher," Babel told the Daily Telegraph. "When we bring that higher tempo to a game against European opponents, they can't deal with it. You could see that with Inter Milan. At Anfield, they were shocked by the pace."
