Liverpool youngster Stewart out of Augsburg clash

Liverpool youngster Kevin Stewart has been ruled out of Thursday's Europa League fixture against FC Augsburg.

The 22-year-old suffered ligament damage in his ankle in training and is facing the prospect of spending significant time on the sidelines.

"We lost Kevin Stewart in training," manager Jurgen Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.

"He blocked a shot and his ankle was not stable.

"It was a bit bruised so we have sent him for a scan. We think it's the ligament.

"He trained outstandingly and then this happened. That's not too good."

On Sunday, former Tottenham Hotspur Stewart became Liverpool's 200th player to appear in the Premier League and was set to start in the Round of 32 first leg at Augsburg.
