Liverpool youngster Sterling tweets apology to Wigan's Watson

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has apologised to Ben Watson after their clash left the Wigan Athletic midfielder with a broken leg.

In a freak collision, 27-year-old Watson was caught just above the shin by the knee of the Reds winger as they jumped for a ball in the first half.

"To Ben Watson I didn't realise it was serious as that ill be praying for a speedy recovery mate ill have you in my prayers every day #sorry," Sterling tweeted.
