Liverpool's England U21 captain Jordan Henderson could be in line to knock off David Beckham for the Great Britain captaincy.
If Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce decides to build his team around the nucleus of a side which currently boasts a record of played four, won four, 16 goals scored and one conceded, his skipper Henderson will be in the frame.
The 21-year-old Liverpool midfielder said: "I'm happy with the way things have gone. I went to Liverpool and I'm improving, there are great players I can learn from and I love playing for England Under-21s.
"I tend not to think about the captaincy too much - I'm still a player for the team and I need to focus on my job - but I try to lead by example."
