Liverpool youngster Coutinho targeting World Cup with Brazil

Philippe Coutinho has his sights well and truly set on representing Brazil at the 2014 World Cup.

The 21-year old Liverpool midfielder is in Melbourne preparing for the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League season on the Anfield clubs pre-season tour of Asia and Australia and told Fox Sports that he harbours ambitions to play for A Selecao at his home tournament next year.

"It's a dream but it depends on the national coach (Luiz Felipe Scolari). It's a dream working on that and hopefully the dream one day can happen," the former Inter Milan ace said.

"If I keep working hard and play a good season this year, then I will hopefully get there, by scoring goals of course!

"It will be crazy. All the followers from Brazil, there will be a lot of pressure that everyone expects, but with Brazil playing the way they did in the Confederations Cup it will be very strong.

"This is the dream of every player. To play in your own country in the World Cup and every player will be playing at their best this year to get there."
