Southend United boss Paul Sturrock will make a decision on Liverpool trialist Jason Banton tonight.
The winger has been training with Southend for the past week.
"I told Jason that I would deliberate over the weekend and then tell him my decision on Monday but it's hard for an 18-year-old to come in and deal with League Two," Sturrock told The Echo.
"I tried it with the boy German from QPR and Jarvis from Cardiff and it's difficult for them so I have a few things to think about.
"I will talk to my chief executive tomorrow morning and then I will speak to Jason and let him know my decision in the evening."
