Liverpool are eyeing Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Mirror says Brendan Rodgers will try to jump the queue for Asmir Begovic, if Pepe Reina rejoins Barcelona.

And Anfield boss Rodgers is prepared to offer Stewart Downing to Stoke as part of a bid for keeper Begovic.

If Reina tells Liverpool he wishes to return to Barca, where he grew up in the La Masia academy, Rodgers will also be able to offer ­Begovic a guaranteed first team spot.
