Liverpool's reported pursuit of Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic is unlikely to actually occur.
The Liverpool Echo suggests that the Reds have no interest in making a summer swoop for the Croatian midfielder despite varying reports indicating otherwise.
Kovacic, 22, only joined the Spanish giants from Inter Milan last summer but it is understood he could be on his way out the Santiago Bernabeu exit door having played just a bit-part role last season.
But his destination will not be Anfield with the Echo of the belief that Jurgen Klopp is looking to secure a deal for Udinese's Piotr Zielinski instead of pursuing the former Dinamo Zagreb young gun.
