Joe Ledley has warned wonderkid Ben Woodburn that he might have to bide his time on the bench for a while.

Teenage sensation Woodburn impressed during Wales' clashes against Austria and Moldova last month but the youngster lost his place in the lineup to Tom Lawrence in the clash against Georgia, where the midfielder managed to grab a stunning late winner.

Due to his exploits, Lawrence is now expected to keep his place in the starting lineup and senior squad member Ledley has stated that Woodburn will have to bide his time on the sidelines as a result.

Ledley said: "Tom is a great player to play with. He is brilliant, you see him in training doing shots like that, even free-kicks.

"He has that in the bag and it was only a matter of time before he got his first goal for his country. Obviously Ben has a great future but he has to be patient and he knows that.

"He has set the world alight when he has come on these last few campaign games. But Tom has started a few and hopefully he can keep his place and if he keeps doing that I am sure he will."
