Liverpool are tracking Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt.

The Sunday Mirror says Liverpool scouts have been watching the England youth international midfielder during an impressive recent run which has seen him score four goals in his last six matches for Neil Redfearn's resurgent Championship side.

Mowatt has also been extensively watched by Everton and West Ham United.

However, any big money deal could depend on the status of Leeds owner Massimo Cellino - currently banned after failing the Football League's directors' rules.
