Liverpool are reviving their interest in Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.

Reds chief Damien Comolli has been following Afellay for the past 18 months and is now stepping up his interest with the Dutch ace having recovered from a serious knee injury.

Afellay is now training with the Barca first team and could play again before the end of the season.

Liverpool intermediaries believe Barca will seek to sell Afellay in the summer should they manage to sign Santos star Neymar.
