The Reds have been keeping tabs on the centre-forward and are ready to offer around £250,000 in compensation for the 15-year-old.

But Clarets boss Steve Cotterill wants closer to the £1million mark if he is forced to sell.

Cotterill said: "There's been nothing agreed between us and Liverpool.

"If they think they can nick him for £250,000 they've no chance."

Liverpool are ahead of Manchester United and Arsenal in the race for Cofie and invited him to Anfield for last week's Carling Cup tie with Cardiff.
