Liverpool to wait until season's end to negotiate with Johnson

Glen Johnson may have to wait until next summer before negotiating a new deal with Liverpool according to the Telegraph.

The 29-year old right-back is out of contract in two years but is reportedly keen to secure his future at Anfield by signing a long-term deal.

However, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group are less positive about offering new deals to players who are over 30 when their contract is due to expire and may look to wait until Johnson has just 12 months to go on Merseyside just as they did when securing skipper Steven Gerrard to a new agreement.
