Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey has hinted he wants to join a Champions League club.

Heskey is off contract in June and is interesting Aston Villa and former employers Liverpool.

"Everyone wants to be playing on these stages and for their club in the Champions League," he said.

Heskey played a key role in the 3-1 win over Belarus on Wednesday and feels his performances will be catching the attention of club managers.

"I hope so," he said. "It's a nice situation that I'm in, but I'm still a Wigan player and I want to do my best for them."
