Liverpool veteran Carragher: Today why I ended international retirement

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher admits games like today's against Germany is why he ended his international retirement.

He might have been at Disneyland Paris this week - a trip he had promised his children before Fabio Capello tempted him out of international retirement last month.

It's a sacrifice which now seems well worth making.

"Of course," he says. "That was the whole point. There are games that are different from all the others and this is certainly one of them.

"It's one of the reasons I came back. Obviously I'm not going to play in the next World Cup. This is what it's about: England- Germany, the World Cup. It doesn't get much bigger, does it?"
