Liverpool veteran Carragher sends apology to Man Utd's Nani

Experienced Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher reportedly sent an apology to Manchester United winger Nani after the two sides clashed at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Carragher forced the Portuguese star from the pitch just before half-time with a rash challenge that left his opponent with a huge gash on his leg and forcing referee Phil Dowd to show the Reds man a yellow card.

But after the match, which Liverpool won 3-1, Carragher sent an apology to the United dressing room before waiting for Nani to say sorry in person.

There was no reaction from United officials as they imposed a media ban on all players and coaches in the wake of the disappointing result whilst Reds boss Kenny Dalglish did not say too much about the incident in his post-match conference.
