Liverpool using Babel to land Werder Bremen's Hunt

Liverpool are chasing Werder Bremen midfielder Aaron Hunt.

The People says Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will try to swap Ryan Babel for Werder Bremen star Hunt.

Babel is keen on a move away from Anfield because he isn't getting a run in the first team - and knows that a regular game is vital if he is to make the Holland squad for next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.

And Reds boss Benitez can offer him no guarantees, using him largely as a substitute this season.

Now the Spaniard will offer Babel as bait in an attempt to land Germany international Hunt.

Hunt qualifies for both Germany and England, because of his English mother, but the 23-year-old has chosen to play for his homeland.

Robbo i think you will find that Owen Hargreaves WOULD be classified as home grown as he plays for the English national team.

Rafa has spend around 75-85 Million net (im sure you all know what net spend means). When you take in to account that 20-28 Million was on Torres, 18 Million on Mascherano, 18 on Glen Johnson, alone takes up 57-60 odd million you will realise how well he has done with the cash. Yes some players have come and failed but few leave for a loss and many have made the club a profit. When shopping without a blank chequebook sometimes trial and error is the only way to find a bargain.

Wow. Spectacular Craig! Anyways, I hope everyone knows that Aaron Hunt does not qualify as a home grown player. Not even if he were to captain the England squad in the future. Just as Owen hargreaves doesn't qualify. Hunt is ok but I don't see any major upside here. Once again Rafa has wasted so much money it is amusing.
Cheers from California!
