Liverpool are ready to step up talks with Derby County for Will Hughes. The Daily Star says the Reds are to loan Andre Wisdom to Derby as a bargaining chip for Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United target Hughes.
Hughes, who has contributed three goals and two assists for Derby this term, made the headlines again at the weekend when his slick pass released Conor Sammon for the match-winner against Watford.
Steve McClaren is resigned to the fact that he will struggle to keep Hughes past the winter transfer window, so should look to take on Wisdom - the England U21s skipper with 21 league appearances for the Reds last season - to keep young talent in the first-team.
