Liverpool unlikely to send any players on loan as schedule starts to clutter

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has insisted that it is unlikely he will send any players on loan prior to the end of the season.

The Reds are still alive in the FA Cup with a semi-final date coming soon and are determined to finish as high as possible in the Premier League meaning Dalglish will need his entire squad for the rest of the campaign.

The likes of Jonjo Shelvey and John Flanagan are looking for regular game time elsewhere but Dalglish suggests he will not be allowing anyone to leave as Liverpool strive for a trophy double following their Carling Cup triumph last month.

"The fixtures come up thick and fast and we just have to play what is in front of us," Dalglish said.

"The strength of the squad we have is going to be invaluable between now and the end of the season.

"We have to make sure we are right first before we consider letting anyone go on loan.

"We have a lot of games coming up and there are a lot of very good youngsters who would benefit from going out, but this club has to come first and if that is the case then the answer [to any loans] would be no.

"But if we can help their development then we will."
