Liverpool are eyeing Inter Milan midfielder Hernanes.

The Telegraph says Liverpool's search for a replacement for Steven Gerrard has led them to Inter midfielder Hernanes.

Another Inter player, Mateo Kovacic, was one of his top targets but Inter are demanding around £25million for the player and Liverpool are reluctant to pay that kind of sum.

Hernanes' contract still has three years to run so any move for Hernanes would not come cheap: Inter would want to see a profit on the £14million they spent on him, but he would represent a significant saving on the sums being quoted for Kovacic.
