Liverpool FC will travel to the Far East for a pres-season tour taking place in China, Malaysia and South Korea.

The Reds are admired in these parts of Asia and will benefit commercially from the summer trip which will see them play matches in Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur and then Seoul in July.

Skipper Steven Gerrard said it was a great initiative by the club to return to the region they visited in 2009 when they went to Thailand and Singapore.

"Whenever we go to Asia, the fans are always amazing," said Gerrard.

"The supporters over there are fanatical about Liverpool and it's great that we can give so many of them a chance to come and watch the team play."
