Liverpool, Tottenham target Berahino has one-on-one with Pulis, dispels West Brom exit rumours

Saido Berahino has revealed that a heart-to-heart discussion with Tony Pulis has reignited his passion.

The talented English striker was believed to be unhappy at West Bromwich Albion late last year but suggests a chat with new manager Pulis helped put a smile back on his face.

"A one to one with the manager is something I thought that I had to do and needed to do so I can get to know him better and it went well," Berahino told the Birmingham Mail in the wake of his match-winning goal against Hull City on the weekend.

"He is a big character in the game, he is not afraid to get his opinion across. He has come in and the first thing he has done is make sure we play as a team and that there is no-one bigger than the club and he has just tried to get us gelling, playing as a team and make us hard to beat."

Berahino, who has now scored 14 goals in all competitions this term, also played down suggestions that he was seeking a winter move to interested clubs Liverpool or Tottenham.

"I'm just playing and enjoying my football. Obviously I have big ambitions but at the moment I'm a West Brom player, I'm contributing goals so I'm happy," he added.

"This time of the month is a difficult one. Everyone is playing a game of chess so I'm just letting my football do the talking.

"Obviously there are always rumours going around but I can't control anything. All I can control is what I'm doing on the field."
