Liverpool and Tottenham are in talks with Werder Bremen for midfielder David Philipp.

The 17 year-old has scored 14 goals in 18 games for Werder's B team and is regarded among the best young players in Germany.

Sky Deutschland says Liverpool and Spurs are pushing to ferry Philipp away from Germany - something which Werder youth chief Björn Schierenbeck has acknowledged.

"I do not want to exclude it. However, I do not know how concrete the interest is," said Schierenbeck.

"We've already showed him in his conversations about how his career could look at Werder."
