Liverpool to take on Suarez and Barcelona at Wembley

Liverpool has announced that they will meet Barcelona at Wembley Stadium in the 2016 International Champions Cup.

The Reds will take on the Spanish giants at London's headquarters on August 6 as part of the worldwide tournament which takes place over the European off-season.

Liverpool will get the chance to reunite with former star striker Luis Suarez who has been on fire with Barcelona since moving to the Camp Nou two seasons ago.

The announcement was made on Tuesday evening with Liverpool representative Gary McAllister and Barcelona ambassador Ronald De Boer present at Wembley.

McAllister said: "What an incredible game to round off such a high-profile tournament - and all set under the iconic Wembley arch.

"I'm sure this game will be a great spectacle for Reds fans and football fans in general. I can't wait."

The fixture will be Liverpool's third in the ICC 2016 following their July 27 clash with Chelsea and July 30 encounter with AC Milan which will both be held in California.
