Liverpool to reignite interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Subotic

Neven Subotic is set to again appear on the radar of Liverpool, according to reports.

The Sun is reporting that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is still contemplating the idea of a reunion with the Borussia Dortmund defender.

27-year-old Subotic struggled for game time under Thomas Tuchel last season and would jump at the chance to link up with Klopp at Anfield.

With Martin Skrtel set to leave, Kolo Toure's contract up and uncertainty surrounding Mamadou Sakho and his banned substance investigation, Klopp wants quality in central defence and could quite possibly make a play for Subotic who starred for him at the Westfalenstadion.

The Serbian's agent, Frieder Gramm, told Kicker that his client is indeed in search of frequent first-team football which could force him out at Dortmund this summer.

"Currently it does not look like he will get more game time in the upcoming season," he said.

"But he absolutely wants to play, and does not want to earn his money on the bench."
