Liverpool are a step closer to securing the services of Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic after it was revealed Hamburg were no longer interested in the Serbian.
German publication Bild is reporting Hamburg are unable to afford Dortmund's asking price for the 27-year-old, leaving Liverpool free to bring him to Anfield in the summer.
Subotic has not featured regularly for Dortmund this campaign and is said to be interested in reuniting with his former manager Jurgen Klopp.
The centre-back's current deal with Dortmund runs until the summer of 2018, but it is understood Klopp is eager to make Subotic one of his top priorities during the upcoming transfer period.
