Liverpool are poised to make a big-money bid for Southampton's Sadio Mane.

According to The Sun, Reds chief Jurgen Klopp is prepared to spend £30million on the Senegalese forward as he looks to revamp his squad this summer.

Manchester United have been showing significant interest in Mane but it looks as though Liverpool have edged ahead of their arch rivals in the race to sign the 24-year-old.

It is understood that the Anfield club are close to agreeing a fee with the Saints which is believed to be £25m plus add-ons.

Klopp's desire to lure Mane to Merseyside is likely to see Jose Mourinho set his sights elsewhere after his scouts were not as impressed as those from Liverpool.
