Liverpool booss Jurgen Klopp would like to see how Joe Gomez performs in pre-season before allowing the defender to join Brighton.

The 20-year old suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for 128 days at the beginning of last season.

Gomez made only three appearances for the Reds since returning to action in January.

And now Klopp wants too see if the Englishman can be useful in his squad before allowing him to leave on loan.

Brighton, along with Huddersfield and Bournemouth, are reportedly interested in signing Gomez temporarily.
