Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been warned not to expect a big summer transfer kitty. The Mirror says Rodgers has been told to expect a transfer budget of no more than £20million this summer.
And that means he will be forced to sell to enable him to bring in the four top-class players he wants to recruit ahead of an assault on the top four next season.
Rodgers has been assured that he will have the final say on the future of Luis Suarez, a player who would generate a fee in excess of £40m if he was made available.
An Anfield insider said: "The owners are not overly concerned with the financial position of the club, but there won't be huge amounts of money made available for investment in the team.
"The manager will be given a budget to work with and will also have the freedom to spend whatever money he generates himself with the usual wheeling and dealing that takes place in the transfer market."
Can FSG expect Rodgers to compete for a top four finish on such a budget? Give us your shout below...
