Real Madrid appear set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.

Liverpool were understood to be preparing a £46million bid for the German international, but global sports network beIN Sports is reporting that Madrid are now the frontrunners for Reus' signature.

The 26-year-old has scored 37 goals in 82 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund and is still one of the hottest commodities on the transfer market this summer, despite dealing with injury problems last season.
