Liverpool have received encouragement in their pursuit of Barcelona winger Jeffren Suarez.
Udinese had been strongly linked with a move but the player's father, Efren, insists he will not play in Serie A and has opened the door for an English club to make their move.
Efren said: "Playing in Italy is not a good option for Jeffren. He has more attractive offers from Spain and England."
Liverpool chief Damien Comolli is keen to bring the Spain U21 star to Anfield for the new season.
