Mario Gotze has confirmed that he will be remaining at Bayern Munich this summer.

The German attacking midfielder had been heavily linked with a potential transfer to Liverpool where he would reunite with former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klop.

But the 2014 World Cup hero has made it clear that he will stay put with the Bundesliga champions in a bid to win over incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti after struggling to make an impact under Pep Guardiola.

"I look forward to the new season in Munich and will do everything possible to be in top shape for my first training session under Carlo Ancelotti," he told Bild.
