Liverpool are on alert after Carlos Zambrano rejected a new contract offer from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The centre-back has been watched by Reds scouts for over a year, and has refused to extend his stay at the Bundesliga strugglers beyond the summer.

The 24-year-old Peruvian would be available on a Bosman deal in July, but interested clubs can start negotiations with the player now.
