Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers admits this is a season of transition for his side.
The Anfield club remain seventh on the Premier League table following today's 0-0 draw with West Ham United at home and are simply targeting a finish in the highest position possible come seasons end.
"From outset of this campaign, I felt it would most likely be a season of transition and there would come a few growing pains," he told Sky Sports.
"Our aims are simple. We want to finish as high as we can.
"This was a game we wanted to win.
"Our form at Anfield has been getting better all the time. We love playing here.
"We are full of thrust and bodies going forward, offensively today we were very good."
