Christian Benteke will this week tell Aston Villa he wants to leave the club this summer.
The Guardian reports that the Belgian striker will report to pre-season training on Wednesday before informing manager Tim Sherwood that he wants to depart.
Benteke is a key target for Liverpool but Villa will not sell unless his release clause of £32.5million is met.
It is believed that Benteke is not keen on another relegation scrap with Villa and is keen to move on after three years with the West Midlands club.
The former Genk star has not submitted a transfer request but will inform the club that he would like a move to a team competing at the other end of the Premier League table.
