Liverpool have tabled an improved bid for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.

The Mirror says Liverpool have lodged a £17.5million bid for Croatian defender Vida.

Vida has impressed at the World Cup alongside current Reds star Dejan Lovren, helping Croatia to the final.

Liverpool have already reportedly had a £15.9million bid knocked back but have returned with an increased offer.

But Besiktas will apparently hold out for closer to £30million having only signed Vida from Dynamo Kiev in January.
