Liverpool are struggling to meet Newcastle United's valuation of their Dutch star Georginio Wijnaldum, according to the Chronicle Live.
The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder recently, and the report claims that they have already made enquiries about his availability.
However, the Merseysiders are not prepared to meet the Magpies' asking price of £27million for their star player.
Wijnaldum arrived at St. James' Park in a £14.5million move from PSV Eindhoven last summer, and scored 11 goals and provided five assists in his debut season for the relegated Magpies.
