Liverpool striker Luis Suarez hasn't shied away from his admiration for Barcelona.

Before Liverpool stepped in, Suarez, whose agent is the brother of Barca coach Pep Guardiola, was a long-term target for the European champs while at Ajax.

He confessed to Gazzetta dello Sport: "In the past I said I loved Spain and Barcelona. And of course I said I could fit in there because the team was very technical."

Asked about his progress at Liverpool, Suarez added, "Winning the Premiership is now very difficult, but we can win the FA Cup."
