Liverpool striker Danny Sturridge wants to be an England first-choice.

His competition up front is Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck - but he is desperate to get the call from manager Roy Hodgson.

"It's every player's dream to establish themselves as an England regular," Sturridge told

"Wherever you come from in the world you want to establish yourself in the national team. It's important for you as a player and for your family.

"To help your country be part of successes is special and hopefully I'll be a part of some sort of success with England in the future."
