Liverpool striker Sturridge blasts England critics: Keep comments to yourself

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge won't hear criticism of England's players after their World Cup semifinal defeat to Croatia.

Sturridge, who moved on loan to West Brom in January in an attempt to secure a last-gasp place at the Russia tournament, defended his international colleagues after seeing them criticised on social media.

Sturridge tweeted: "If anyone has anything negative to say about this @England team or individuals keep your tweets to yourself.

"Nobody would have thoughts they'd be where they are or achieved what they have and they've made everyone proud so get behind them and show love not hate #threelions".

England will meet Belgium in a third-place playoff on Saturday before Croatia meet Didier Deschamps' Les Bleus in Sunday's final.
