Liverpool striker Ngog, Carew in cashed up Blackburn sights

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is lining up a new striker signing in January.

The Daily Star says Indian poultry giant Venky's completed their £43m takeover yesterday. And Allardyce, who is in the market for an experienced striker, has spelt out exactly what he wants to do in the January transfer window, with Aston Villa's out-of-favour John Carew and Liverpool's David Ngog linked with a move to Ewood Park.

Allardyce said: "I'm looking for someone who would improve the squad dramatically.

"I'm not really looking for a player to develop at this moment.

"We've had enough of those recently. "I'm looking for a player who can give us a big impact immediately.
