West Bromwich Albion are set to open negotiations with Liverpool for striker Rickie Lambert.
Lambert has a year left on his existing contract at Anfield, but has never been given a chance to play regularly with the Reds, and West Brom boss Tony Pulis is keen to offer the England striker a way out.
The 33-year-old is set to leave Merseyside after a disappointing season, in which he only scored three times, when Liverpool return from their pre-season training in Australia and Asia.
Christian Benteke´s arrival at Anfield has almost certainly ended Lambert's hopes of being part of Brendan Rodgers' plans next season and a shift to The Hawthorns seems a likely scenario.
