Liverpool striker Keane: I want to stay

Liverpool striker Robbie Keane insists he wants to stay at Anfield.

The striker, 28, has struggled to hit top form since his £20.3m move from Tottenham in the summer and has been linked with a return to White Hart Lane.

But the Irishman said: "I'm confident in my own ability and I know I'll score a lot of goals for this club.

"I'm not worried about it so I don't think anyone else should be. I know there's a lot more to come from me."

"I'm not being big-headed but I've scored a lot of goals in the last 10 years and it's not just going to go away like that," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I never get down about things. Some players get their head down and cry but I'm too mentally strong for that.

"I've only been here a few months and sometimes it does take a little time to settle in. I prefer to be judged a little further down the line than now."
